It's been a while since I've been excited for anything at E3, but this year... Man. Nintendo sure is taking the cake. The 3DS has some killer titles lined up (and before I knew anything about the system, at that!), and the Wii is getting a TON of good games.
Donkey Kong Country Returns and Epic Mickey are the two that I'm most looking forward to. It's nice to see that Star Fox is returning (albeit a remake of Star Fox 64, which in itself, was a remake of the original Star Fox) and even the addition of a new Kid Icarus is nice.
Some might complain that Nintendo is just milking their franchises right now, but you know what? When the games are looking as good as they do now, that doesn't seem so bad to me. Also, the new Zelda looks interesting; I'll have to see a little bit more to jump on the hype train, but crap, that 3DS looks pretty cool.
Anything anyone else is excited for? _________________ People suck.

Huh, so it's already E3 again? Oh well. I'll see the games when they get released, and I'll be excited about them when they get released.... Wait, new Zelda? Hang on, I'm going to check it out. ;P _________________

| E3 was pretty great. I'm excited about the 3DS and '360 Slim. The freshly announced games were pretty tight and I never use that word. |

The 360 Slim does look pretty sweet. I refused to upgrade to the Elite a couple years ago, but after seeing this new redesign, I might as well give it a shot. From a DS perspective, I had the original phat DS until the DSi came out (when I finally decided it was time to just cave in) and I never once regretted it; I play that thing a lot more, now. I can only hope the 360 Slim will be the same way. Plus, it'll just make it easier on me to travel back and forth between home and school, leaving an Xbox at both places so I never have to pack them.
I would love a new Conker game to come out. Especially now, considering they canned the original service of Xbox Live, rendering the multiplayer aspect of Conker: Live & Reloaded (a pretty fun version of the N64 game) almost useless. You can still play multiplayer offline, but c'mon; are you really going to find seven other people to LAN it with?
I'm not really excited for the new Lufia game, but hopefully they'll be announcing the original two for the Virtual Console (assuming the new one sells well, of course ). _________________ People suck.

You'd rather have two old Lufia games you've already played than a brand new Lufia game? _________________

Nah, I'd rather play a bit more traditional turn-based RPGs than "real-time" combat. Makes grinding easier. Besides, can it really be considered "brand new" if it's a remake? I've already played the original, and I know what's going to happen, right?
I'm not wishing it shouldn't have been made, or anything; I just know that this "new" title isn't for me, anymore, and I'm perfectly fine with that (not a fan of real-time hack-n-slash games). _________________ People suck.

Fair enough, but what if they were to actually make a new Lufia game? An actual sequel? _________________

You know, I'm not sure... I'd definitely be curious, but it just depends on how the gameplay would end up. I'm not really a big of real-time action RPGs in general (unless they're done right, but I haven't seen too many cases of that, especially those developed/produced by SquareEnix), but I guess it would just come down to how the actual game plays.
I would consider myself a fan of Final Fantasy VII and, in the same manner of wanting to see a continuation of the story in Lufia, I was curious to see how the story would play out in their new FFVII game, Crisis Core. I couldn't get five hours into it because of the combat system. It acts like it has all this depth to it (magic systems, dodging mechanics, quick-time events, item fusion to create new weapons and abilities), but in the end, it all comes down to how fast you can mash the X button.
Most action-RPGs I've played are like this: Star Ocean: First & Second Departure, The Last Remnant, Kingdom Hearts 2, Crisis Core, and I think Infinite Undiscovery was another one...
I LOVE Lufia, don't get me wrong. Both the first and second game are some of my favorite games of all time. But so is Super Mario Bros. I'm not a big fan of sports games, and even when they slap Mario's name on one that doesn't change the fact that it's a freakin' SPORTS game and I probably won't enjoy it even when it's characters that I love. The same goes for Lufia; as much as I love the three games I've played (which were all traditional turn-based RPGs), I don't think I could play an action-RPG that's set in the Lufia universe.
But that's why I love this forum; if I can't do it, I can always look to you guys and see how your experiences were (I could never finish the Ancient Cave because I would lose interest so quickly, but I got to see your guys' reactions at the end which was good enough for me).
I have to ask you, though; what are YOUR honest opinions of the new game? _________________ People suck.

Ahh, I see. Well, that's a good reasoning.
I guess a lot of the forum members here are fond of the classical turn-based RPG's. I'm not really that much of a fan of it. I like it, but I'm fine with other kinds of RPGs as well. What always has been my reason to like Lufia so much was the story, not really the battle system. I think Lufia as an action RPG worked out fine. It's got less of the familiar feel, true. But it's still a fun game to play, and more importantly, the game is a different way of telling the same story.
That's my opinion of the game in relation to the Lufia series. As for the game itself, it's definitely worth playing. I can't say much about the story of course, but it follows the old story pretty well with a few changes every now and then. Sometimes, I felt like they could have included some more advanced controls, since you pretty much control each character in the same way. That tends to give the feeling you're doing the same thing over and over again in battle. Puzzles were good though, and so were the dungeons.
So... to sum it up, I think it's a pretty good game and definitely a worthy addition to the Lufia series.
Oh, and one more thing... I wouldn't be very enthusiastic about a Lufia sports game either. _________________
