To me, puzzles were the best part of Lufia II. I wish Lufia I would have had something like them, I think that's the only way Lufia I could be better than it is.

I found the puzzle to be very difficult, and the first time i did it, i did it myself, and it took a long time. since then i have done it but i cheated because i didn't have time or patience, but i have done it at least once by myself, maybe 2 or 3 times. the items were useful, especially against that particular boss. I found this applet of the puzzle online and you can actually try and do the applet instead of playing the best game ever to do the puzzle
